The Sabre scissors company was founded and owned by Cole National of Cleveland, Ohio. National also owned brands KA-BAR and Monarch, 2 classic American knife brands. Sabre knives and scissors were made in the US, Japan, and Solingen, Germany. Solingen knife makers were awarded the privilege of stamping “Made in Solingen” on their products since 1571, due to their long history of knife and sword making. Solingen, the knife-center of Germany, was so well known for their high quality blade products that they earned the nickname “The City of Blades”.
