What we do

Anyone can sharpen a blade. There is a process that maximizes edge and life of a blade. For the highest quality grind, you want an exceptional process and an exceptional “grinder.”

The best process combines low speed, low heat (water cooled) grinding and paper wheels. This process protects the metal while honing the blade to a very sharp edge.

An exceptional grinder (blade sharpening specialist) will be able to see the geometry of the blade and effectively apply the grinding method to the blade losing the least amount of metal in the process. I have trained a number of grinders over the years. Some are able to see the geometry of the blade and apply the process correctly and consistently. Many are not.

The advantage of hand sharpening to machine sharpening allows me to see when the optimal edge has been reached. Each round of grinding requires less abrasion to get that razor sharp edge while preserving the life of the blade.

Finally, Quality Control is part of the process from beginning to end. The best knife and blade sharpeners will have a signature grind that is consistent and recognizable. The signature grind lengthens the life of the blade over multiple sharpenings and guarantees the same result every time.
